Yeah sorry, but that still is not an excuse for not making one, I mean, this is something that happens once in many, many years, it is a special event and actually had a direct impact on Eve's universe and lore. (happened once with caldari, twice gallente, once amarr since 2003).
Furthermore, it is not hard to choose who gets one and who does not. CCP Fozzie has already stated who qualified for Gallente's medal:
"We gave the medal to every character that had received at least one LP from the FDU in the month between Dec 12th and Jan 12th."

Also, I do not understand why they cannot invest some time, to make a mechanic that issues such a medal, each time after many months or many years, finally all systems are captured? I mean, it only makes sense in FW. Instead of people getting two medals, they could get a "Issued Twice" etc. So I understand CCP here, if they do not want to make each time a militia wins all systems several times, but again, that happens rare, doesn't it? Why not create a mechanic for this?
And frankly, I still have my doubts that a pixel Medal by experts that make such an awesome game is harder than making a real medal:

Your criteria won't work either. Most people that fit your criteria are actually mission runners, that don't give a crap about FW unless it is Tier related for their missions. CCP has already established a criteria when handing gallente the medal. A lot of new corps and members joined militia just recently, many of which, had no idea about a medal. Some of those corps and players have put much more effort for the empress, than most people that fit your criteria. If CCP is to change anything, then perhaps this kind of mechanic:
Mission runners, with not even 1 enemy ship kill and at least X amount of LPs earned inside plexes, should not be allowed to get a medal.
It is not time in the militia that proofs anything, but what you do once you are in it and a 1 day old member can indeed do much more for the war effort than a guy that has been farming LPs in missions for his self-interest for the past 3 years. |
